The Park Avenue Penthouse involved a gut-renovation of a luxury property located in a historic apartment building by Rosario Candela c. 1931 and featured in “Life at the TOP: New York’s Exceptional Apartment Buildings” by, Kirk Henckels, Anne Walker, and Michel Arnaud. Featuring 1 bedroom and 5 terraces, the home was designed for collectors and the project is a Manhattan Luxury Architectural Interior Design statement complete with Custom Furniture and intricate Lighting Design, all by Pavarini Design, Inc. Rugs were handmade by Stark Carpet throughout and walls plastered and finished to perfection by our team of Artisans. Each room was curated with an exquisite collection of antique furniture and lighting by Maison Jansen, Barovier, Fontana-Arte, Tommy Parzinger, Jean-Michel Frank, Fortuny, Venini, and other legendary designers. The plaster ceilings by Balmer of Montreal were custom-designed by Pavarini, featuring pierced crown mouldings to allow the LED cove lighting systems to peek-through. The most luxurious fabrics in many cases were embroidered with individual patterns and adorned with actual gemstones sewn-in to look like bugs and feathers and other figments to give a sense of whimsy to the formal interior. Hidden doors to the Butler’s pantry in the Dining Room and a hidden humidor in the Library provide the ‘007’ sense of awe that the thoughtfully-designed rooms provoke.
