The Circle of Excellence Awards will take place on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at the prestigious Union League Club in New York City.

One of the industry's most anticipated and festive events, The Circle of Excellence has saluted many of the outstanding leaders in the industry since its inception in 1992. It recognizes individual talent, corporate initiative and significant accomplishments within the design and furnishings community. This gathering has been called the Oscars of our industry.

What better way to celebrate the new decade than to honor achievers; current trendsetter's and those who are the future of the industry. Our honorees will be exemplars in the fields of Media,
Interior and Product Design, Retail, Education and “Green” Achievement. Join us as we salute innovation, imagination and performance.
INDUSTRY LUMINARIES TO BE HONORED AT
IFDA NY
CIRCLE OF EXCELLENCE AWARDS

New York, NY—March 2010— The New York Chapter of the International Furnishings & Design Association (IFDA) will honor industry luminaries through its bi-annual awards, the Circle of Excellence (COE) in New York City on Tuesday, May 4th.

The award program was created to recognize individuals and organizations demonstrating exemplary leadership, achievement and initiative in the design and furnishing communities. The IFDA is a worldwide alliance of those in the commercial and residential design sectors and this award is considered a top honor, as it celebrates the industry’s diversity in a number of distinct categories.

Honorees for 2010 include:

• Media: Cindy Allen, Interior Design Magazine
• Interior Design: Charles Pavarini III, Charles Pavarini III Design Associates Interior Designer of the Year
• Product Design/Development: John Stark and Steven Stark, Stark
• Retailer-to-the-Trade Resource: Benjamin Moore & Co., Ray Gomez
• Green Achievement: Angela Nahikian, Steelcase
• Education: The Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, Bill Moggridge
• Special Humanitarian Award: Kenneth Wampler, The Alpha Workshops

“This year’s awards will be our most exiting yet,” remarked IFDA NY President, Su Hilty. “We are especially prod that honorees reflect changes in our industry and the ability to offer solutions to pressing local and global issues.”

The event on May 4th will feature cocktails and a presentation from 6:00-8:00 PM at New York City’s renowned Union League Club at 38 East 37th Street. Jim Druckman, President and CEO of The New York Design Center will serve as Master of Ceremonies. A portion of the evening’s ticket sales will support the IFDA’s Educational Foundation.
